6 years in the making. Pete and Jackie developed a close friendship. Over time, this allowed us to develop trust and a love so strong that they decided to be with each other forever.

Balls Bridge has unique and special memories for Pete. He spent summers at his Aunt Joy and Uncle Lee's home, next to the bridge. Camping, swimming, fishing with friends and family and many years later with his son, Chris.

Back in 2007 the bridge was slated to be torn down and replaced. It had such historical significance that his cousins created a foundation that saved the bridge from destruction.

The bridge is referred to "The Bridge That Love Built".

During our trip to Goderich last June, it was evident that this is where we would marry as it too is a bridge that love built.

Jackie spent a month in Australia, visiting her friend Sura and on her return trip home, Pete had flown to Houston to meet with his friend Larry and to fly back with Jackie on her final leg of the 33 hour flight home. During that flight, Pete asked her to marry him...and of course, she said YES!
